Dive Log Book

Anya Rangaswami_Dive Log Book_Cover

There are few things I enjoy more than my annual diving holidays. A week (or more) of spectacular sunrises, early breakfasts, the thrill of diving into crystal clear waters and meditative hours spent with nothing but the vastness of the sea, brimming with life in all its technicolour glory.

As a person who spends more time than I should documenting everything I do, keeping a log of my dives was a bonus that came with the hobby, and I could not enjoy it as much as I wanted to, if I had to record some of the best hours of my life in a book I didn't like.

Finding a well designed log book turned out to be much, much harder than I imagined and one fine day, I realised how ridiculous this quest was when I could simply design my own. I spent days illustrating tropical fish, and working out the best way to organise information in the book. I wound up printing eight copies for my dive buddies and myself before we took a trip in February 2016.

The inner pages, printed on a lightly textured, off white stock, were used to log dives. I split information into sections, with illustrated icons that corresponded with each.
