Identity Design, Stationery Design and Production
Overview
In early 2015, I was approached to re-design the identity for renowned actor Anil Kapoor's production house- Anil Kapoor Films Company. His daughter Rhea, who joined the company as producer in 2010 wanted the identity to reflect the company as it is now-young, quirky and experimental. She wanted to introduce a little play into the identity, turning it into something the team could connect with.
The Solution
We wanted to stay clear of a single pictorial representation of the company- cameras, film reels etc, that are so often used for film related ventures, since production was about so much more. Instead, we worked with a simple base unit- a rectangular frame combined with a square frame, a representation of film frames.
Building the Visual Style
Using the master logo as a base, we worked with a series of illustrations that represented the fun, free-spirited nature of the production house.
The idea was to add a little play to the brand identity- using it with animations in the background, moving images, photographs, illustrations, the kind of flexibility that a brand that works across media, requires. We took this visual style into brand applications with bright pops of colour and illustrations.
