Scope of Work

Brand Design—Identity Design, Packaging Design

Overview

In April 2022, I was approached to create an identity for The Antora, a saree store in Hyderabad, that prides itself on heritage weaves, exquisite quality and timeless style. Positioned as premium, the identity needed to stand out and evoke a sense of luxury.

The Solution

An archway draws your eye inwards, inviting you into a new world. The blooming Queen of the Night, turns to the right, its petals slowly opening. This rare phenomenon, a once-in-a-year spectacle represents a priceless moment, and an object of timeless beauty.

The symbol drew inspiration from the Queen of the Night, the Brahmakamal, a flower that blooms once a year in what is often a highly anticipated spectacle; a fitting representation of the one of a kind products The Antora houses.

The Antora is typeset in an elegant sans-serif with high contrast letterforms. The letter ‘R’ curves outward and below the baseline, adding a sense of movement that complements the flower mnemonic. The colour palette sits at the intersection of the vintage and contemporary. A muted dark blue is offset by terracotta and accents of gold.

Brand Packaging

Minimal, elegant and with keen attention to detail, the packaging for The Antora was designed to create a truly luxurious experience. The sarees were placed in a muslin bag, within a navy gift box, wrapped in tissue. From the hang tags to ribbons and stickers to seal, a package from The Antora was designed as a layered spectacle, much like the exquisite flower that was its inspiration.
